*📖EPILOGUE – Manifesting The Glory Of The New Covenant*

Image
*Hebrews | 2 Corinthians | Romans*   *— Manifesting the Glory of the New Covenant —* Over the past months, we’ve journeyed together through some of the most powerful books in the New Testament — *Hebrews*, *2 Corinthians*, and *Romans*. Through daily devotionals, deep reflections, and Spirit-led study, God has been drawing us into a deeper understanding of *His covenant, His grace, and our calling*. --- 🔥 *From Hebrews*   We saw how *God spoke through His Son*, revealing Christ as the *exact image* of God’s glory. We encountered the *superiority of Jesus’ sacrifice*, the *call to faith*, and the urgency to *fix our eyes on Jesus*. Hebrews reminded us that we are *citizens of an unshakable Kingdom*, walking by *faith and endurance*. --- 🌿 *From 2 Corinthians* We were reminded of the *glory of the New Covenant* — a ministry not of condemnation but of righteousness. We saw Paul’s life as a model of *integrity, endurance, and sacrificial love*, pointing us toward *the ...

We bless God for the journey through the book of Romans. Yesterday, we learnt about the topic "Living With A Mission-oriented Mindset". Today we will be looking at Paul's greetings and concluding remarks to the Romans. As we proceed in the word of God today, may we be blessed in Jesus' name. Amen. Scripture for Today: *Romans 16:1-27*  Key Verses: ‭ *Romans 16:16-18, 27 NIV‬*   _Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ send greetings. I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who_ _cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them_ . _For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people._ ..... _to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen._ ‭    *DISCUSSION*  Romans 16 is often overlooked because it seems like just a list of greetings and names....

We bless God for another beautiful week. Yesterday, we learnt about the topic "Bearing With Others And Glorifying God".    As we proceed in the word of God this week, may we be blessed in Jesus' name. Amen. Scripture for Today: *Romans 14:14-33*  Key Verses:‭ Romans 15:14, 17-18, 30 NIV‬    _I myself am convinced, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with knowledge and competent to instruct one another._   _Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus in my service to God. I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished_ _through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done_    _I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me._  *DISCUSSION*       In Romans 15:14-33, Paul gives a glimpse of his ministry heart. He shares his m...

We bless God for another opportunity to learn at His feet today. Yesterday, we learnt about the topic "Kingdom Living:". As we proceed in the word of God today, may we be blessed in Jesus' name. Amen. Scripture for Today: Romans 15:1-13  Key Verses: Romans 15: 3, 7 and 13.NIV‬  _For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you_ _have fallen on me.”_  _Accept one another,_ _then, just as Christ_ _accepted you, in order to_ _bring praise to God._  _May the God of hope fill_ _you with all joy and_ _peace as you trust in_ _him, so that you may_ _overflow with hope by_ _the power of the Holy_ _Spirit_ . ‭  DISCUSSION Paul reminds us here that the Christian life is not about pleasing ourselves, but about bearing with others in love. Just as Christ did not live to please Himself, we too are called to consider others before ourselves. This is not weakness—it is strength modeled after Jesus, who carried our burde...

We bless God for another beautiful day. Yesterday, we learnt about the topic "Living In Harmony Under God’s Lordship". As we proceed in the word of God today, may we be blessed in Jesus' name. Amen. Scripture for Today: Romans 14:13-23 NIV‬ ‭ _Therefore_ _let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean. If_ _your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy someone for whom Christ died. Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing t...

We bless God for another beautiful day. Yesterday, we learnt about the topic "Awake, Arise, and Shine For Christ". As we proceed in the word of God today, may we be blessed in Jesus' name. Amen. Scripture for Today: *Romans 14:1-12 NIV‬*   _‭Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them. Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand. One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does s...

_We bless God for a fresh new day. Yesterday, we learned about the THE GOLDEN RULE which is “Love your neighbor as yourself.” As we proceed in the word of God today, may we be blessed in Jesus' name. Amen. Scripture for Today: Romans 13:11-14 NIV‬ And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh._    DISCUSSION     Paul reminds us here that the time is short and we must live with urgency. Each day brings us closer to the return of Christ, and this a...

Devotional: THE GOLDEN LAW; 'The Principle of Love '

Image
We bless God for another opportunity to learn at the His feet today. Yesterday, we learnt about the Christian's Obligation To The Government. As we proceed in the word of God today, may we be blessed in Jesus' name. Amen. Scripture for Today: Romans 13:8-10 NIV‬ [8] Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.  [9] The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”  [10] Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.   *DISCUSSION*      Debt is something to be avoided by every believer. It is a trap that catches the careless. It can bring much bondage and misery. The custom of going into debt for special occasions like marriages, etc, or to buy unnecessary things...

Devotional : CHRISTIAN'S OBLIGATION TO THE GOVERNMENT

Image
Praise the lord🗣️🗣️, Halleluyah 🙌  Glory be to God, happy new week  Scripture for the Day: Romans 13:1  * "Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God." - Romans 13:1*   *Discussion* Every person, including Christians, is called to be subject to the governing authorities. The Apostle Paul, writing during the time of the Roman Empire, reminds us that all authority ultimately comes from God. Even when a government isn’t a democracy or is unfriendly to Christians, its power is part of God’s plan. Sometimes, a nation’s leaders may be appointed by God not to bless the people, but to bring about a time of judgment or correction. Because governments have their authority from God, resisting them is seen as resisting God's own plan. The consequence for those who resist is judgment upon themselves. God uses government as a tool to check man's sinful nature. It's an ...

Devotional : SUBMISSION TO GOD'S GIVEN AUTHORITY (Romans 13)

Image
Our Scripture for Today: Romans 13:1 (NIV): "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."  Paul begins by asserting that all governing authorities are appointed by God. This means our submission to them is, in essence, an act of obedience to God. He clarifies that rulers serve as "God's ministers" to maintain order and punish evil. As Christians, we are called to be exemplary citizens – honest, law-abiding, tax-paying, and, importantly, prayerful for our leaders. This submission is not born of fear, but from a clear conscience before God. The only exception is when human law directly contradicts God's law; in such rare cases, we "must obey God rather than men" (Acts 4:19). Paul declares that the only "debt" we should perpetually carry is the obligation to love one another. This love is not a fleeting emotio...

Devotional : A LIVING SACRIFICE (Romans 12)

Image
Our Scripture for today  > "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship." (Romans 12:1) >  *The Call to a Living Sacrifice* This verse is a call to action. Paul "beseeches" or pleads with us, appealing to our will to make a conscious choice. This choice is rooted in God's immense mercy—the grace, forgiveness, and new life we've received in Christ. We are to offer our entire being—our bodies, minds, and wills—to God. This isn't a one-time event, but an ongoing, moment-by-moment dedication. The image of a "living sacrifice" is a powerful one. Unlike the sacrifices of the Old Testament, which were killed and burned on an altar, we are called to bring our lives to God's altar and stay there, alive. This means our daily life—our work, our relationships, our thoughts, and our actions—becomes our act of worship. It's ...

Devotional : God's Unwavering Plan for Israel and the Gentiles

Image
Scripture for Today Romans 11:33-36 > Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?” “Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. >   Romans 11 explores the relationship between God's grace, His people Israel, and the Gentile believers. It addresses the question of whether God has abandoned the Jewish people and reveals a profound mystery of His plan for salvation. *Grace & Works* Paul first clarifies that salvation is based purely on grace, not on human effort or "works."  Definition of Grace: Grace is a free and unmerited gift from God, given solely out of His kindness, not based on a person's performance or potential.  The Conflict: Grace and works are mutually exclusive principles. As Paul states, ...

Devotional : ZEAL WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE (Romans 10)

Image
 > Scripture for Today: > "For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge." - Romans 10:2    >  Praise the lord 🗣️ 🗣️, Halleluyah 🙌  Previously, we spoke about GOD'S UNFAILING WORD & SOVEREIGN CHOICE, but Today we are considering the topic ZEAL WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE  Paul's heart for his fellow Jews is evident in Romans 10. He acknowledges their deep sincerity, noting that they have a "zeal for God," but it is a zeal "not according to knowledge." . Sincerity and passion for God are not enough; they must be guided by a proper understanding of who God is and how He has chosen to save humanity. Paul himself was a prime example of this before his conversion. He was zealous to the point of persecuting Christians, believing he was serving God. This chapter serves as a reminder that we must not rely on our own religious efforts but on God's revealed truth. *The Righteousness of Works vs. The Righteous...

Devotional : God's Unfailing Word and Sovereign Choice (Romans 9)

Image
Good morning 😇, people of God  > Our Scripture for Today: > "For though the twins were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad—in order that God's purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of him who calls—she was told, 'The older will serve the younger.' As it is written, 'Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.'" - Romans 9:11-13   >  The question arises: Has God's word failed, since it seems His promises to Israel have not been fulfilled? Paul answers with a resounding "No." God's word has not failed because not all who are of Israel are truly "Israel." The name "Israel" means "governed by God," and not everyone who is a physical descendant is truly governed by Him. This reveals a key principle: God's promise of salvation is not based on physical lineage but on His sovereign choice, a principle of election. *Election: A Purpose Based on God, Not Works* Paul il...

Devotional :A New Life in the Spirit: Freedom from Condemnation

Image
Praise the lord 🗣️ 🗣️, Welcome to a new week 😊 Today we would be taking a look at the new life in the spirit, There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. This isn't just a temporary pardon; it's a permanent state. Because God the Father does not condemn Jesus, and believers are united with Him, they are also free from condemnation. This freedom is twofold  Freedom from the Guilt of Sin: We are not guilty because Jesus bore the condemnation we deserved.  Freedom from the Power of Sin: We are no longer enslaved to sin. We have been freed from its dominion and the finality of death. > Scripture for Today: > "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." - Romans 8:1 >  The Law's Weakness and God's Solution The Law is a guide that reveals God's character and exposes sin. However, it is weak through the flesh because it cannot give us the power to live up to its standards. It can't defeat sin, only de...

Devotional : FREE FROM THE LAW,BOUND TO CHRIST (Romans 7:6)

Image
In the previous chapter, we spoke about how we now have the power to rule over sin and being slaves to righteousness. In Romans 7, we will be discussing our freedom from the law and bond with our Lord Jesus Christ.  *Romans 7:6 NKJV* *[6] But now we have been delivered from the law, having* *died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.* The bible makes us to understand that as long as we are still alive, we'll be under the law. Examine the instance of the woman Apostle Paul gave in the bible (Romans 7:1-3) how that this woman is bound to her husband by the law but if her husband dies, she's free from the law and can get married to someone else without being called an adulteress.  Therefore, as Christ died, we died to sin and the law has no power over us, hence, we married christ. The law is no longer an option for our salvation, we are no longer seeking righteousness through the law but Christ. We ar...

Devotional: RIGHTEOUSNESS AS OUR MASTER (Romans 6:18)

Image
Yesterday, we affirmed that the life in us is the life of God, considering ourselves dead to sin and giving ourselves totally to God.  In our continuation of Romans 6, we learn that whatsoever we give ourselves to, we become slaves of it . It's either sin which leads to death or obedience which leads to righteousness. But we thank God because Christ has delivered us from the bondage of sin as we are now being made slaves to righteousness.  It's a must that we give ourselves to the life of righteousness for us to become holy, you have to put your faith in God and His word.  To be free from sin tells us that sin is no longer your master but the one you now serve is righteousness.  ✓ The will of God becomes our will  ✓ We have a relationship with christ that can never be broken  ✓ We willingly chooses to serve Jesus and lay aside our own desires. ✓ We receive eternal life through Christ Jesus  All these are the benefits of working for righteousness...

Devotional :OUR NEW LIFE IN CHRIST(ROMANS 6:4)

Image
In the previous chapter, we discussed how through a man,Adam, sin came into this world and through Jesus Christ,we received righteousness. It's either we live under sin or the grace of his righteousness.  Romans 6 opens our understanding as to why we can't keep sinning and expect this grace to abound. The evidence of leaving our old self and embracing God's righteousness is through his grace. We can't want more of this grace and continue living in sin.   *Romans 6:4 NIV* *[4] We were therefore buried with him through* *baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was* *raised from the dead through the glory of the Father,* *we too may live a new life.*  Apostle Paul explained how that we are buried with Christ and risen with him - baptism. We now have a new life with christ that must not be stained with sin.  Sin has lost it's power over us as our old self is being crucified because we died with Christ. We are no longer slaves to sin, we're set free f...

Devotional : DEATH THROUGH ADAM, LIFE THROUGH CHRIST ( Romans 5:19)

Image
Previously, we talked about the unconditional love of God for us, how he gave up his son for our reconcilation with him.   *Romans 5:19 NKJV* *[ 19] For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be* *made righteous.*  In Genesis 3, Adam and Eve sinned against God and sin came into this world. The earth became mortal as a result of his actions,"for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." The work of a man made us sinners but to gain righteousness we have to believe in the work of other man. We are not sinners because we disobey the law, but we are made sinner through the work of Adam. The law couldn't save us, it was too weak to save sin rather causes more .  Someone had to stand in gap, another Adam was raised, Jesus Christ a representation.  Adam and Jesus had impact to mankind. Their works brought consequences  ✓ The work of Adam brought death while the work of christ brings grace ✓ Ad...

Devotional : GOD'S LOVE AND RECONCILIATION (Romans 5:6-11)

Image
Yesterday, we affirmed that our hope in His glory is assured due to the love of God shed abroad in our heart. Our love for God by the help of the holy spirit helps us not to compromise our faith in Jesus Christ  Today, we'll be talking about God's love for us and reconciliation with Him.   * Romans 5:8 NKJV* *[8] But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in* *that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.*  God's love is love given to those without strength, to the ungodly, to sinners. It is a love greater than what we share among ourselves as humans. Through this love, he gave up his son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins. John 3:16 emphasized God's love for us(sinners) that he sacrificed his son so we will not perish, just for us to be justified. Had it not been the blood of christ, we would have suffered from the wrath of God.  Through this love, he chastises us. Hebrews 12:6 says "For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He r...

Devotional : THE HOPE IN HIS GLORY (Romans 5:3-5)

Image
Another new day of living in God's righteousness, all glory to God. Yesterday we discussed on how our justification by faith in christ brings peace, making us to be a partaker of God's glory.  Today, we continue in our study of romans 5 by checking out another benefit of justification by faith which is The hope we have in his glory.  Romans 5:3-5 NKJV [3] And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; [4] and perseverance, character; and character, hope. [5] Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Jesus christ told us in John 16:33 that "in the world we shall have tribulation but we should be of good cheer because he has overcome the world". Christ has fought the battle of sin and we are justified by grace through Faith.   What brings us to the hope of his glory  ✓ TRIBULATION: Apostle Paul said we also glory in tribula...

Devotional : THE PEACE THAT COMES WITH JUSTIFICATION

Image
ROMANS 5:1-2 Romans 5:1-2 KJV [1] Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: [2] by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.  Yesterday, we were enlightened on how that the only way of salvation is to be justified by grace through faith, not by works. This grace(salvation) which we noe stand is gained through faith.  Romans 5 teaches us about the benefit of our justification by faith in which one of them is peace  What do we mean by peace through justification  This is the peace that comes with our righteousness i.e our being made right with God  The peace here is not absence of a physical conflict or war but it's the link that brings us close to God. It is what we gained from our justification through faith in Jesus Christ because the bible made us to understand that christ himself is our peace (Eph 2:14) ✓ It is how the finished works of chri...

Devotional : JUSTIFIED BY FAITH, NOT WORKS (Romans 4:16)

Image
Yesterday, As we've established, Abraham believed God, and God credited it to him as righteousness (Romans 4:3). It is crucial to understand that our justification is not a gradual process of becoming perfectly righteous; rather, it's an immediate, legal declaration by God that we are now guiltless and perfectly righteous in His sight. This is the act of imputed righteousness, where Christ’s righteousness is credited to our account. The Law and Justification In the Old Testament, the Covenant of Law was indeed linked to righteousness. The promise of God to Abraham was that all nations would be blessed through him (Genesis 12:3). Under the Law, circumcision and obedience were seen as the way to be part of God's people and partake in the blessings. However, the New Covenant reveals a different path. We are not required to be circumcised or perfectly obey the law to be justified by God God; all we need is to have faith, just as Abraham did. This does not mean that obeying the ...

Devotional: ROMANS 4:1-6 | THE IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS OF CHRIST

Image
Yesterday, we discussed the profound truth that we are declared righteous through faith in Jesus Christ. The Scriptures are clear: for us to stand in the presence of a holy God, we must ourselves be made holy. As Psalm 24:3-4 asks, "Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in His holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart." Romans 4 serves as a beautiful reminder of God's immense love and grace. It reveals that He has made a way to forgive our sins and declare us righteous, not based on our own efforts, but on His gracious gift. We do not have to earn our righteousness through our works. The apostle Paul quotes King David, who described this blessing in Romans 4:6 (NKJV): "Just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works." It is truly a blessing to receive the righteousness of God as a free gift, rather than having to work for it. This gift is freely given to all who believe. WHAT ...
