Devotional : THE PEACE THAT COMES WITH JUSTIFICATION

ROMANS 5:1-2

Romans 5:1-2 KJV

[1] Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: [2] by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Yesterday, we were enlightened on how that the only way of salvation is to be justified by grace through faith, not by works. This grace(salvation) which we noe stand is gained through faith.

Romans 5 teaches us about the benefit of our justification by faith in which one of them is peace

What do we mean by peace through justification

This is the peace that comes with our righteousness i.e our being made right with God

The peace here is not absence of a physical conflict or war but it's the link that brings us close to God. It is what we gained from our justification through faith in Jesus Christ because the bible made us to understand that christ himself is our peace (Eph 2:14)

✓ It is how the finished works of christ on the cross settled our grievances with God,thereby, giving us access to God. The conflict we have with God was due to the sin in us and our unrighteousness but Jesus paid the debt and all we do now is fight for christ and against sin. The ultimate peace we have is having access to the father and that can only be possible through Jesus Christ (John 14:6)

✓ The peace we have when we are not guilty of sin and have the right to behold His glory -only those with cleans hands and a pure heart will stand in his holy place (psalm 24:3)

✓ The peace that we have as a result of our intimate fellowship with God, that feeling we have when we relate with God like a friend  (Eph 2:18)

✓ Being full of his presence at all time (Psalms 16:11)

✓The joy of having the holy spirit in our hearts

✓ The feeling of knowing you're loved by God despite your shortcomings

✓ The hatred we have for sin, and the more closer we want to be to God

You know that feeling you don't have when you forget to pray or read your bible and it's until you do it before you feel okay, that's it.

The feeling that we want to always have and feel when we relate with God is the Peace that is acquired through justification by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

Prayer,

Lord, thank you for sacrificing your only son for me so I can have peace

Lord help me not lose my peace which is christ

Lord, fill me with your unending joy and presence
