Devotional : *BEARING WITH OTHERS AND GLORIFYING GOD*

We bless God for another opportunity to learn at His feet today. Yesterday, we learnt about the topic "Kingdom Living:".

As we proceed in the word of God today, may we be blessed in Jesus' name. Amen.

Scripture for Today: Romans 15:1-13

Key Verses: Romans 15: 3, 7 and 13.NIV‬

_For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you_ _have fallen on me.”_

_Accept one another,_ _then, just as Christ_ _accepted you, in order to_ _bring praise to God._

_May the God of hope fill_ _you with all joy and_ _peace as you trust in_ _him, so that you may_ _overflow with hope by_ _the power of the Holy_ _Spirit_ .

 DISCUSSION

Paul reminds us here that the Christian life is not about pleasing ourselves, but about bearing with others in love. Just as Christ did not live to please Himself, we too are called to consider others before ourselves. This is not weakness—it is strength modeled after Jesus, who carried our burdens.

God has given us His Word to encourage and sustain us, teaching us endurance and filling us with hope. And when believers walk in unity (when different voices are becoming one voice) the result is God being glorified.

Paul also stresses that Christ came to fulfill God’s promises not only for the Jews but for the Gentiles too. This means no one is left out—His grace reaches everyone. This reminds us that the gospel is for all nations. It calls us to welcome one another as Christ has welcomed us, breaking down barriers of division.

He closes with a blessing: that we would be filled with joy, peace, and hope through the Holy Spirit. What a powerful reminder that our hope is not based on circumstances, but on the God who never fails. The “God of hope” means the God who inspires hope in His people and fulfills it. The hope is of final salvation. It is produced by the Holy Spirit in the hearts of believers. Peace and joy are also produced by God’s Spirit. They are natural elements of God’s kingdom. They were both promised by Christ to His obedient disciples. God wants believers to be filled with them. Only then will they behave towards others as they ought, and praise God and live for His glory as they ought. Believers should learn to reject anything which robs them of their peace and joy or dims their hope.

As we strive to live out our faith in community with others, may we remember to bear with one another and to accept each other as Christ has accepted us. May our unity and love for one another bring praise to God's name.

* Help me to live selflessly, building others up and walking in unity with Your people.

* Fill me today with Your joy, peace, and overflowing hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
