Devotional :OUR NEW LIFE IN CHRIST(ROMANS 6:4)

In the previous chapter, we discussed how through a man,Adam, sin came into this world and through Jesus Christ,we received righteousness. It's either we live under sin or the grace of his righteousness. 


Romans 6 opens our understanding as to why we can't keep sinning and expect this grace to abound. The evidence of leaving our old self and embracing God's righteousness is through his grace. We can't want more of this grace and continue living in sin. 


 *Romans 6:4 NIV*

*[4] We were therefore buried with him through* *baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was* *raised from the dead through the glory of the Father,* *we too may live a new life.* 


Apostle Paul explained how that we are buried with Christ and risen with him - baptism. We now have a new life with christ that must not be stained with sin. 

Sin has lost it's power over us as our old self is being crucified because we died with Christ. We are no longer slaves to sin, we're set free from the power of sin. 

The new life we have in Christ as a result of being raised from the dead. Death have no dominion over him,he lives forever and the life that he lives is for the glory of God. 

Therefore as christians and believers of Christ, we should consider ourselves dead to sin and not give in to sinful desires rather we should give ourselves totally to God for the life that we now live is the life of God in us.

Prayer 

Lord, I thank you because I'm delivered from the bondage of sin

Help me to overcome temptation that comes my way

Help me to live a life that pleases you
