Devotional : GOD'S LOVE AND RECONCILIATION (Romans 5:6-11)

Yesterday, we affirmed that our hope in His glory is assured due to the love of God shed abroad in our heart. Our love for God by the help of the holy spirit helps us not to compromise our faith in Jesus Christ

Today, we'll be talking about God's love for us and reconciliation with Him.

 *Romans 5:8 NKJV*

*[8] But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in* *that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.*

God's love is love given to those without strength, to the ungodly, to sinners. It is a love greater than what we share among ourselves as humans.

Through this love, he gave up his son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins. John 3:16 emphasized God's love for us(sinners) that he sacrificed his son so we will not perish, just for us to be justified. Had it not been the blood of christ, we would have suffered from the wrath of God.

Through this love, he chastises us. Hebrews 12:6 says "For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives." He does not wants us to be condemned, hence shows us his love.

If we are justified by the work of Jesus, we can be assured that we are also saved from God's wrath through Him. Justification brings about our reconcilation with God. If God could show such love to us when we were still sinners, how much more the blessings we will enjoy once we are reconciled to God.

All that matters is what we have through Jesus. Our righteousness through our own works doesn’t matter and can’t help us. Our justification comes through Jesus. Hence, we can rejoice in our relationship with God because in Christ lies our reconciliation.

I am appealing to a user of this devotional who has been struggling with the barrier of sin to stop struggling. You cannot help yourself; only Jesus Christ, can help you. All you need to do is to surrender your life to Him in genuine repentance and believe that He came to die for human race (1 John 3:8; Romans 5:8, 11). Beloved, let God help you solve your problem of sin today accept sin to be sin; don't rationalise it but admit, confess and forsake it. It shall be well with you in Jesus' name.

Prayer

Lord, I reconcile myself back to you so I can enjoy more of your love

Lord, continue to be intentional about me

Let your love continue to fill my heart

In Jesus name

Amen.
