Devotional :A New Life in the Spirit: Freedom from Condemnation
Praise the lord 🗣️ 🗣️, Welcome to a new week 😊
Today we would be taking a look at the new life in the spirit, There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. This isn't just a temporary pardon; it's a permanent state. Because God the Father does not condemn Jesus, and believers are united with Him, they are also free from condemnation. This freedom is twofold
Freedom from the Guilt of Sin: We are not guilty because Jesus bore the condemnation we deserved.
Freedom from the Power of Sin: We are no longer enslaved to sin. We have been freed from its dominion and the finality of death.
> Scripture for Today:
> "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." - Romans 8:1

The Law's Weakness and God's Solution
The Law is a guide that reveals God's character and exposes sin. However, it is weak through the flesh because it cannot give us the power to live up to its standards. It can't defeat sin, only detect it.
God’s solution to this problem was to do what the Law could not: He sent His own Son, Jesus. On the cross, Jesus condemned sin in the flesh, bearing the punishment that we deserved.
This means that the righteous requirement of the Law is fulfilled in us, not by us. This is a critical distinction. Our righteousness comes not from our own works, but from Christ's perfect obedience and His atoning sacrifice.
Walking by the Spirit
A life free from condemnation is one that is directed by the Holy Spirit, not by the flesh. The "flesh" represents our sinful, human nature, which cannot please God. In contrast, walking in the Spirit means that the course of your life is guided by the Holy Spirit's leading.
If you're wondering how to know if you have the Spirit, ask yourself these questions:
*Has the Spirit led you to Jesus?*
*Does the Spirit put in you a desire to honor Jesus?*
*Is the Spirit leading you to become more like Jesus?*
* Is the Spirit at work in your heart?*
Those who are led by the Spirit are sons of God. This isn't a pre-condition for salvation; we become sons of God first, and then the Spirit leads us.
> "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." - Romans 8:14
>
Assurance and Inheritance
The Holy Spirit provides assurance of our salvation. He bears witness to our spirit that we are children of God. This inner testimony gives us confidence in our relationship with God.
As children of God, we are also heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. We share in the same relationship and inheritance that Jesus has with the Father. This inheritance is so great that it outweighs any suffering we may endure in this life. Even in our weakness, when we don't know how to pray, the Spirit helps us by making intercession for us
> "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." - Romans 8:1
> "For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death." - Romans 8:2
> "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh." - Romans 8:3
> "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." - Romans 8:14
> "The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God." - Romans 8:16
> "Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses." - Romans 8:26

A Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, thank you for the wonderful life you've given us in the Spirit.
Thank you that there is no condemnation for us in Christ Jesus.
We praise you for your Holy Spirit who empowers us, guides us, and intercedes for us when we don't know what to say.
Help me to walk by your Spirit today, trusting in your righteousness and not our own.
In Jesus name. Amen.

I am not condemned, Amen.
