Devotional : THE HOPE IN HIS GLORY (Romans 5:3-5)

Another new day of living in God's righteousness,all glory to God. Yesterday we discussed on how our justification by faith in christ brings peace, making us to be a partaker of God's glory. 

Today, we continue in our study of romans 5 by checking out another benefit of justification by faith which is The hope we have in his glory. 

Romans 5:3-5 NKJV

[3] And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; [4] and perseverance, character; and character, hope. [5] Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.


Jesus christ told us in John 16:33 that "in the world we shall have tribulation but we should be of good cheer because he has overcome the world". Christ has fought the battle of sin and we are justified by grace through Faith.

 

What brings us to the hope of his glory 

✓ TRIBULATION: Apostle Paul said we also glory in tribulations i.e hardship. The struggles of doing away with temptation and clinging to Jesus, challenges and test that comes our way, these things that questions our faith are our tribulations in Christ.The end of point of it all is because we know there's a greater glory ahead of us. 

✓ ENDURANCE: we are only able to glory in tribulations because they are what leads to our endurance. Majority loses their faith due to tribulation,they rebel against God and that leads to their unbelief. We should learn to persevere in any situation we find our self though if isn't easy

✓ CHARACTER: Our character can only come from endurance through tribulation. The virtues we put on in while being expectant of his glory. These virtues are the fruit of the spirit in Gal 5:19 

✓HOPE: The bible made us understand that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that would be revealed in us. Our hope is assured because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts. 

In conclusion, as christians,we should be aware of God's love for us. This love shed abroad in our heart can only be the work of the holy spirit, when we refuse to compromise and stand only with righteousness due to God's love in our hearts


Prayer: Lord, help me not to compromise my faith notwithstanding of the circumstances I find myself 

Lord, help me to endure temptations that comes my way

Lord,let your love fill my heart
