Devotional : New Covenant Ministry
New Covenant Ministry
Today's Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:1–6
2 Corinthians 4:2 – But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
Verse 4 – Whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
We bless God, who has given us the grace to see another week again. May His name be praised forever and ever.
Penultimately and previously, we learned about the glory of the new covenant and the difference between it and the old covenant. But today, we will be considering the ministry of the new covenant.
This ministry is a wonderful one, given by God to Paul. And Paul, as a servant of God, ensured that the word was preached undiluted. He took this gospel of the new covenant to the people in Corinth—through the word (Word of God), accompanied by the power of God (miracles, healings, signs, and wonders), and also by the way Paul lived among them (his character).
Believers are called to be ministers of the new covenant and not of the old covenant, which leads to death. So, if a person will be a minister of the new covenant, he/she will need to have the Word of God living in him/her. He/she must be ready to manifest the power of God and also live by the word he/she is speaking.
It’s quite obvious that, even though believers are striving to ensure that everyone benefits by showing them the glory of the new covenant, Satan still finds a way to blindfold some people so that they won't understand the message.
Are you not blindfolded?
The goal in this apostolic age is that everybody becomes like Christ—becoming the very image of Christ. In so doing, we can be changed from glory to glory. Christ is our standard, and we are meant to follow Him until we are fully made.
Who are you following? Are you not ignorantly following the devil?
As a believer, you can't give what you don't have. Until you encounter Jesus and the glory of the new covenant (the brightness of the glory of God revealed through Jesus) begins to manifest in you, you won't be able to minister it to others.
Work To Do:
-
Surrender your life to Jesus totally (completely), not half submission.
-
Make the Bible your friend (it's one of the ways to behold His glory).
-
Pray for the grace of God to sustain you.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for this wonderful day, to learn from You again. May Your name be glorified forever and ever, in Jesus’ name.
Lord, we pray that You help us to represent You well in this world, in ministering the new covenant to other people.
Lord, for as many that still have the veil covering their spiritual eyes, we pray that You Yourself will meet with them and deliver them from the god of this evil world.
And we ask that You grant us the grace to run this race to the very end. In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
