Devotional : THE GLORIOUS CALLING

Good morning people of God 😇, Yesterday We focused on the GLORY OF THE NEW COVENANT, Today we are discussing THE GLORIOUS CALLING

Our Scripture for today : 2 Corinthians 4:1-6

"Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart...For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."

Discussion :

Apostle Paul writes to the Corinthian church with a powerful message about the strength and humility required for ministry. He reminds them of their glorious calling to share the gospel. When we remember the magnitude of what God has called us to do, it gives us the courage to face any difficulty. We don't lose heart because our purpose isn't found in our own strength, but in the greatness of God's plan.

We are called by mercy, chosen for this incredible work. Paul explains our ministry wasn't earned; it was a gift. When we approach our faith and faith with this same humility, we remember that everything we have is from God's undeserved grace.

Finally, Paul addresses those who are blinded to the truth. Satan, "the god of this age," actively works to keep people from seeing the light of the gospel. This isn't a reflection of the gospel's power, but of Satan's blinding influence on those who do not yet believe. But there is hope! The very same God who commanded light to shine out of darkness is the one who can break through and shine in a person's heart.

This reminds us of how to pray for those who are lost. We should ask God to bind the work of Satan, to shine His light into darkened hearts, and to give them the faith to believe. Just as God opened Paul's eyes—both physically and spiritually—He can do the same for anyone.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for the glorious calling you have placed on my life.

Help me to remember the greatness of this purpose so I don't lose heart.

Keep me humble, always remembering that your mercy is undeserved.

Lord, I pray for those in my life who are blinded to the truth. Break through the darkness, shine your light into their hearts, and give them the faith to see and believe in the glory of Jesus.

 Amen.
