Don't let your heart harden (Hebrews 3:1-19)

Happy Sunday ✨🤗,happy new week, We've had some wonderful time last week, just focusing on how truly magnificent Jesus is. We've seen how He's God's ultimate and perfect message, and how He's absolutely in charge, way above any angel. Knowing that truth is so powerful! Hope you went to church today!

Today, the book of Hebrews gives us a really important, but gentle, heads-up. Let's open our hearts and see what it has to say to us.

Our Scripture for today: Hebrews 3:1 - 19: NKJV

[1] Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, [2] who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was  faithful in all His house. [3] For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house. [4] For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God......

DISCUSSION:

Jesus is Fully Trustworthy: Just like Jesus was completely faithful to God the Father, He will also be faithful to us.

Listen to God's Voice: The main point is clear: when the Holy Spirit speaks to us, we must listen and not let our hearts become stubborn. The Spirit speaks through the Bible, through other believers, by bringing people to salvation, and through God's actions in the world.

How Our Hearts Get Hard: We can make our hearts stubborn in different ways:

 * Becoming careless: Letting our spiritual life slide back into old, unconcerned habits.

 * Not believing: Doubting God's promises or His power.

 * Always asking for more proof: Demanding extra signs instead of simply trusting what God has already shown us.

 * Taking God's kindness for granted: Thinking we can keep sinning because God is merciful.

Hebrews 3 tells us:

Help Each Other Stay Strong: If we want our faith to be strong and avoid falling into unbelief, we need to be with other Christians who will "exhort" us – that means, seriously encourage us. It's easy to criticize, but encouragement is what helps us grow.

Don't Go It Alone: If you're not connected with other believers, you can't give or receive this important encouragement. When we're alone in our faith, it's much easier for our hearts to become stubborn because sin tricks us.

Watch Out for Hidden Sins: Christians need to be very careful not to let their hearts become hard. Sometimes, this happens because of a hidden sin – something we do in secret, thinking no one knows. We might fool ourselves into thinking it's not a big deal, or that we can always ask for forgiveness later. But the truth is, this hidden sin slowly makes your heart harder. As your heart hardens, you become less sensitive to your sin, and you drift further away from Jesus. This puts you in spiritual danger every day.

Partakers of the heavenly calling, Are you conversant with the voice of who has called you, Do you believe his promise, his power and authority

Is your place found in the gathering of the brethren

Which hidden sin, Addiction are you finding hard to drop

PRAYERS:

Thank you lord 🗣️

Father, forgive me for becoming careless with my spiritual life

In your mercy revive me again

Deliver me of all my hidden sins, consecrate me unto every good works

Help me to stay connected to you always

In Jesus name
