Devotional: God won't forget your labour of love. ( Hebrews 6:1-20)

 Happy new day! It's a day to enjoy the goodness of God through His words again. We learnt how God implore us to grow into maturity and how He wants us to forsake the life of a babe in the spirit and attain that great heights in Him. May we be willing to yield in Jesus' name.



Our scripture for today: Hebrews 6:1-20. But, we would love to dive deeper into verse 10 for today.

Hebrews 6:10 KJV

For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Hebrews 6:10 CEV

God is always fair. He will remember how you helped his people in the past and how you are still helping them. You belong to God, and he won't forget the love you have shown his people.

DISCUSSION

When we are discouraged we sometimes think God forgets us and all we have done for Him and for His people. But God would deny His own nature if He forgot such things (He would be unjust). God sees and remembers. Likewise, sometimes our fear that God forgot our work and labor of love comes from relying on the attention and applause of people. It is true that some people may forget your work and labor of love, but God never will.

Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken and shall he not make it good?

Therefore, this we should do cheerfully because our reward is coming. 

Galatians 6:9-10 KJV And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. [10] As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Examples of those who wasn't tired of their labours in God and were rewarded;

1. Paul (2 Timothy 4:7-8)

2. Tabitha (Acts 9:36-43)

3. Abraham (Genesis 22:1-19)


And many others like, Joshua, Gideon, Esther, Deborah etc.


Reflection


:

Am I really labouring for God?

Will God be proud of my labours when He comes?


PRAYERS 

Help me Lord not to get tired of all my labours for you and your people.

Lord, help me to labour in your own way and not my way.
